Very simple bag, this one. Needed something pink for a karma swap on Ravelry. (I got two fat quarters of purple fabric from the swap.)

Cut two long rectangles… sew each up the sides to form a bag…fold the bottom corners and sew across each one (two on the outer and two on the liner) to create a flat base. Fold and sew a long strip for the handle, and place it in position as you slip the right-side-out lining inside the inside-out outer. Stitch around the top edge sewing the handles in place. Turn it in the right way through the gap you left in the lining. You did leave a gap inthe lining, didn’t you? The topstitch around the top of the bag. I did two rows. If I’d had a strip of wide white ricrac I would have sewed that on too, I think.

Voila.
